Interview with Christine Zierl

Exclusive interview to Lemon Popsicle Forever, conducted on June 15th, 2009 with Christine Zierl aka Dolly Dollar, star of Baby Love.

Lemon Popsicle Forever: How did you get the role in the movie?
Christine Zierl: I get the role in the movie from Sam Waynberg, he was the film distributer and he knew me from another production we made together.

LPF: You are more glamourous in real life, how did it feel to play your character in Baby Love wearing glasses and spots etc?
CZ: I love to play characters like this, because I like to hear people laughing about me!

LPF: Was there any problems, accidents or funny stories on set of any of the movies?
CZ: Not that I could remember. I only know I had a wonderful time with the people in Israel.

LPF: A lot of the other cast, seem to have disappeared and not appeared in any more movies, are you still in contact or have met up with them since the movies?
CZ: I am sorry, but I have no contacts to the other actors, yet. That`s showbiz, another movie, another game, another luck!

LPF: What was your favourite scene to film in the movie?
CZ: The big partyscene

LPF: Where there any scenes filmed that didn't make it into the final cut of the movies?
CZ: Not that I know!

LPF: Does it surprise you that many people still know you from your appearances in the Lemon Popsicle movies, and that the films are still as popular as ever?
CZ: The movies were the most popular films of Israel. They were „the mother of teenage movies” that came long before American pie or other high school movies. And they were international productions, the movies were sold around the world. I know many people who saw the movie and not just one of them

LPF: Do you look back fondly on your time working on Baby Love?
CZ: It was a great experience for me to work in Israel. I was warmly welcomed by the people and it was exciting for me meeting Zachi again after such a long time. We already did two movies in Germany together. We had a lot of fun, specially talking about past memories. I enjoyed the experience of making the movie in Hebrew, because it was a language I never spoke before! It is interesting to know that lemon popsicle the prececesser to folms like American pie. I look back very fondly to those days, because they are full of enjoyable memories. Please contact me if you want anymore information!
